Neti the Yeti Comes to the US

Darcie Goodwin, a good friend and co-conspirator of Greennovate and writer of the children’s environmental fable, Neti the Yeti, recently launched her book in Shanghai has now brought it with her to the US where she’s giving reading tours across the nation. Her book is out now in 7 stores in Houston and Oklahoma. With her recent move from China back to the US, we caught up with her to find out how she’s doing in this new chapter of her life.

What’s been happening?

I am experiencing new things and embracing challenges…Right now, I am working as a marketing and communications consultant.

Why do you do what you do now?

I really enjoy working as a consultant because I am presented with new and different challenges. I also like the objectivity one has a consultant. Because they aren’t mired in day-to-day operations, consultants are able to provide a big picture perspective.

Which living person (or otherwise) do you derive inspiration from?

My inspiration comes from my friends and family. I am fortunate to have an amazing network of friends and a great family. Their challenges and success inspire me to reach beyond my limits and to look at failure as a learning experience.

What is it that you most dislike?

What I dislike most is when people don’t try.

If you could change one thing (anything), what would it be?

If I could change one thing, it would be our current rate of consumption. We are outpacing what the world can supply simply because we are consuming too much, and we are not taking the concept of “reduce, reuse, recycle” to heart.
